What I Wore on Wednesday - March 25, 2015

Wednesday's Dorothea's Closet Vintage Outfit was a fabulous gray & black velvet 1940s Lilli Ann jacket!

According to the Fashion Guild, Adolph Schuman started Lilli Ann in 1933 & named the company after his wife.  Lilli Ann was noted for beautifully designed jackets, such as this one.  Lilli Ann suits & jackets are very desirable among vintage clothing collectors.  I suspect this jacket may have originally been part of a suit with a matching skirt.

With my jacket, I wore a necklace I made recently, using a vintage rhinestone studded fur clip as the pendant.

I also used vintage crystal beads, rhinestone rondelles & vintage chain for this necklace.

I also wore a pair of earrings I made from old tintype photos.

I love these old tintypes!  (Tintypes were especially popular in the 1860s & 1870s, & were common through the early 20th century.)  For these earrings, I added crystal beads, as well as heart & key charms to dangle from the tintypes.

I thought both the necklace & earrings were a nice complement for my Lilli Ann jacket!
