What I Wore on Wednesday - April 8, 2015

by mary April 8, 2015

Wednesday's Dorothea's Closet Vintage outfit was this fabulous 1970's wrap dress by Diane Von Furstenberg!

According to the Fashion Guild, Diane Von Furstenberg was born in Brussels & moved to New York City where she became best known for her "ubiquitous cotton jersey wrap dress" in the 1970's.  Like this dress, many had long sleeves & french cuffs.  I especially love the geometric print on this dress!

With this very fun dress, I wore one of my newest doggy charm bracelets -- made with silver, copper & gold colored vintage Cracker Jack/gumball doggie charms, as well as a fire hydrant & 1970 dog license from Cedar Rapids, Iowa!

I also wore a pair of earrings I made using vintage buttons with little flowers inside & beads from an old broken necklace I picked up at a garage sale!

I thought it was fun that the dog license on the charm bracelet comes from the same time period as the dress!

As always, thanks for reading & for supporting small businesses!

Pauline's Jewelry Box was founded by Mary Nelson in 2012 in Des Moines, Iowa.  I chose the name Pauline's Jewelry Box because my mother's name was Pauline & I have many fond memories of looking through jewelry box & playing with her jewelry
