On Saturday, July 23, I wore this amazing flowered print dress from the 1930s. I especially love the caplet sleeves & the ruching along the shoulders. The original belt was no longer with the dress, so I used a 1980s belt I got at Dorothea's Closet Vintage that matched the colors of the flowers!

I found this dress at a garage sale that we just happened to check out while we were out for a morning walk with Belle, our beagle. It had belonged to the woman's great aunt.
With my outfit, I wore 2 pieces of jewelry I've made.
I made this necklace using a vintage watch part, an old Cracker Jack/gumball compass charm, & watch fob chain.

I thought it was so cool how well the little compass fit into the watch part where I presume a gear might have been originally! I liked too how the orangish red of the compass worked with the colors of the flowers on the dress.
I also wore a pair of earrings I made out of vintage amber crystal beads from a broken necklace I found at a flea market & wire. One of the things I really like about these earrings is that they are really light, even though they have some nice length to them.
